Imagine...A room maxed out with men and
women, who were once imprisoned to pay for their crime, singing, “My chains are gone! I’ve been set free!”
to their Savior Jesus, who paid the ultimate price for their sin, freed them
from death and gave them a new life.
Imagine...Strong and beautiful single
mothers enjoying a night off as they laugh, cry and grow in the Lord together;
letting go of the fears and lies that have weighed them down and being
transformed by the truth, hope and love of Christ.
Imagine...Fatherless children being
encompassed by the love of God their Father through the care of Christian neighbors
and foster parents.
Imagine...An ex-gang member and a country
boy co-leading a city Cub Scout troop, in which boys gain a sense of belonging,
family and manhood apart from the alternative: gangs.
Imagine...Young girls being developed into
women who identify themselves with Christ and good works instead of boys and
materialism.
Imagine...A cohort of young adult leaders,
from differing ethnic and socioeconomic background, on a faith-defining
journey to discover their gifts and calling so they can fulfill the Great Commission.
Imagine...These young leaders tackling
some of the city’s greatest challenges by being Christ-incarnate in public,
private and nonprofit sectors.
Imagine...That all of the scenes described
above are not mere figments of the imagination but are indeed reality.
The
scenes above are the realities of Providence’s ministries: A Strong Tower Ministries, Encompass and the Providence
Center for Urban Leadership Development.
For these ministries to continue on as realities and not figments of the imagination, I need your help!
Each
year 50+ people sleep downtown in cardboard boxes to raise money for Providence’s
ministries during Night in a Box. I will be participating by leading a prayer
tour during the event and by raising $150. Will you please help keep the
ministries of Providence a reality by making a tax-deductible donation? It is quick and easy to make a donation. Click here to donate!
Thank
you for your kindness and generosity! To God be all the glory!
